shifting shades of green and blue
hit a white sand beach.

A hummingbird paused
at the red bottle brush bush
then quickly moved on.

Bonfire on the beach –
smoky, salty smell reminds
me of teenage days.

White bike with fat tires
and wire basket — you serve me
well on the beach road.

The sea quietly
hits the soft, white sand then slides
back toward the Gulf.

Monarch butterflies –
delicate blur of colors –
fly toward Mexico.
