Sarah Palin is
McCain’s running mate?  Well, I’ll
be. Interesting.

Yeah, I didn’t see
that one coming. It sends my
brain swirling around.

Blind-sided is right.
Don’t know what this will mean for
John McCain’s campaign.

Comment by rachelbirds

She is SO SO SO
conservative — anti-choice,
pro-ANWR drilling.

Comment by jennsch

McCain has been stressing the importance of experience. Well, let’s see: Palin has been governor of the least populous state in the union for a couple of years and before that was mayor of a town of 6,000–and she’s ready to run the country if something happens to McCain?

Comment by Tim

Women will like her
because she has ovaries.
Did I get that right?

Comment by Leslie

You done good, Leslie,
but I’m not sure I agree
with the assumption.

Comment by rachelbirds

I think they think chicks
will dig her cause she’s a she –
I sure hope they’re wrong

Comment by jennsch

Trying to grasp the
political strategy.
But it’s hard…like math.

Comment by Leslie

They want us to think
they’re brilliant but perhaps they’re
just condescending.

Comment by rachelbirds

It seems insulting
For McCain to assume that
women will buy her

=+=

Just know that gay men
Have already compared her
To

Comment by davidmaddux

Wonder if she is
a relative of Michael.
Bet she’s less funny.

Comment by Dan

Her sense of humor
is probably more wholesome
than Michael Palin’s.

Comment by jennsch

Quick note: Questioning
the count on ANWR?
Pronounce it an wahr.

Comment by jennsch

What, does McCain think
One woman’s good as the next?
That we’re all stupid?

=+=

Here in Jackson Heights
It’s doubtful that anyone
Will fall for that ploy

Comment by David_M

So nice to see a
local (well, my local) come
in to post here. Thanks!

Obama picks age
McCain picks young and female
So to be all things

Hearing male pundits
Parse the VP-woman thing
Makes me want to scream

Comment by Sophie

Being “a woman”
Is not the same as being
Hillary Clinton

Comment by Peri

Why hasn’t the right
noticed that she’s neglecting
her newborn to run?

Comment by Carol

I think that’s unfair —
left or right, she’s doing what
feminists fought for.

Comment by jennsch

Women are in a
bind — damned if they stay home, damned
if they go to work.

Comment by rachelbirds

Only if we keep
on asking those questions of
women and not men.

Comment by jennsch

Sen Hutchison would
be a good choice for VP
Gets her out of Texas

Comment by pawsinsd

Even she would be
A better gov than Perry
I would like to think

Comment by Sophie

NOT that I support
Her politics or beliefs
I just loathe Perry

Comment by Sophie

Sorry, but I think
this baby thing is funny.
Way to go, Bristol.

How would the Repubs
react, if Chelsea Clinton
was a pregnant teen?

Comment by Leslie

That’s the thing for me –
I don’t want Dems to react
like Republicans.

Comment by jennsch

Haikued my it’s fun to do
mudflats thanks to you

Hey, you guys, I said,

‘Cause they’re hypocrites.
